Il progetto, che ricever\u00e0 finanziamenti per 200 milioni di dollari dalla Banca mondiale, \u00e8 il pi\u00f9 grande da una societ\u00e0 italiana (CMC Ravenna) nel settore delle infrastrutture libanesi da diversi anni. Entro il 2020-2022, si prevede che l&#8217;acqua trasportata attraverso le gallerie verr\u00e0 distribuita in diverse aree di Beirut dopo essere stata trattata in impianti di depurazione. Ci si aspetta che circa 500 mila metri cubi di acqua raggiungano l&#8217;area metropolitana di Beirut, dove vive quasi la met\u00e0 della popolazione libanese e dove la carenza idrica rappresenta un grave problema.
